Save the Children in Yemen is looking for eligible candidates for the position of: Area Finance Officer - Based in Aden KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Finance Management Responsibilities: • To demonstrate a high level of integrity in the performance of the day to day activity. and to do the book-keeping on daily bases • To demonstrate the book-keeping and entries to CAPCOS (Agresso offline spreadsheets) on daily bases • Ensure and supervise that all financial systems and records are kept in an accurate and up to date manner. • Supervise the Filling and maintain the accounting and financial records as per GAAP general • Ensure complete compliance with the SCI Financial Policies and Procedures • Ensure the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports on timing and in accordance with CO instructions • Ensure that all expenses are budgeted and are supported by adequate documentation with authorized signature and will pass the audit test • Oversee petty cash and ensure that the funds are available at all times for the implementation of the activities • Review CAPCOS from Field offices • Compile funds requests from each field office and send it CO, follow-up on cash needs from field offices. • Act as a backup for Finance Officers in Field Office and provide assistance on demand • Act as a Focal person in finance for preparing journal vouchers for adjustments and re-classes purposes • Supervise and monitor advances given out to staff for field operation and assure timely accountability • Supervise and monitor the payment of stipends / incentives. Requirements: Essential • At least 2 years/substantial experience working in management with a humanitarian/ development organisation • Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce, Business Administration with 2 years of relevant experience. • Candidates having professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or ICSA will be preferred. • Candidates having experience working with an International NGO and knowledge of Agresso system will be preferred. • Experience and working knowledge of: [a] Computer software programs such as Excel, Word, MS Access [b] Staff Supervisory roles. • Good organizational, communications and interpersonal skills • Fluency in written and spoken English and good computer skills. • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
