Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for working on the design, development, operation and maintenance of a variety of websites and web applications available in Qatar Rail. This position is also responsible for providing support for all web enabled applications and developing user-interface, information architecture and design multi stakeholder web sites with complex information and functionality.Duties & Responsibilities:• Responsible for design and maintenance of the web sites, developing and defining online standards in form of style guides, and generating prototypes and interfaces for Qatar Rail websites and applications. • Provides support for all Qatar Rail web enabled applications and Mobile applications. • Works with IT team and business units to facilitate publishing activities for web sites/applications from development, to staging through production.• Performs quality and assurance testing on content changes made by business unit personnel.• Maintains internal and external web platforms and monitors web site accessibility.• Ensures that adequate security measures are maintained for internal and external web platforms.• Maintains web site statistical reporting software to measure site activity, trends, etc. Monitors logs and checks for application related errors.• Acts in a liaison capacity to business unit personnel to review code and ensure that corporate development standards are met.• Other duties as assignedSkillsDesired Profile:Hard Competencies:Education: Degree graduate ideally in Technology/ IT Experience:- At least 5 to 8 years of experience in the field of web site design, administration and development in a complex multi stakeholder web site environment.- Experience must include: web site design, producing dynamic content, web content management system, development, documentation, implementation, and testing.- Experience must include working with Mac OS X, IIS, UNIX and Apache in a multi-web site environment.Professional Training:- Training in : ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, Visual Studio 2008 – 2010, ADO.NET, HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, JavaScript,JSP.Skills:- Knowledge of developing mobile OS enabled web site.- Knowledge of : ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, Visual Studio 2008 – 2010, ADO.NET, HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, JavaScript.Soft Competencies:• Interactive Communication - Report writing & Presentations• Analytical Thinking• Initiative & Follow up• Time ManagementAbout Al RailQatar Rail was established as a direct result of the vision of His Highness The Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
