Save the Children in Yemen is looking for eligible candidates for the position of: Child Protection Assistant SRHR ROLE PURPOSE: The Child Protection (CP) Assistant will assist in implementing and monitoring activities in an effort to education and change perceptions related Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Child Protection issues. This CP programme is supported by the Netherlands Government and implemented directly by Save the Children in Aden and a local Yemeni partner organization in Lahj. Activities such as training, workshops, service mapping, and advocacy campaigns, will be carried out in schools and other public areas with community members. The Assistant will have a diverse workload and be directly responsible for conducting numerous trainings and/or be the primary contact and support person for the local partner organization’s staff doing trainings. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: • To assist the SRHR project Officer in the planning, development and implementation of child protection activities • Conduct child protection awareness activities for parents and help the partner conducting awareness activities in the communities and target areas. • Conduct child protection and child rights trainings for target groups. • Monitor SRHR activities that are implemented through the partner in target areas. • Implement SRHR activities on the field as instructed by the SRHR project officer • Help the partner coordinating with community leaders, school managements and teachers, regarding the organization and implementation of SRHR activities. • Support administrative tasks such as preparing Purchase Requests. • Prepare reports for the supervisor with statistical and narrative information on the progress of the SRHR activities in target areas. • Work in close collaboration with other SC staff (Wash, Education, etc.) in the target areas – develop joint work plans. • Support the implementation of child protection campaigns and awareness sessions and other advocacy plans. • Participate in the design and implementation of activities to identify a baseline for protection programming – use baseline data in programming. • Any other duties as required. Requirements: • At least a diploma or bachelor degree Education, Sociology, Social Sciences, Psychology, Medicine or any other related field. • 2 years experience in a similar post, preferably working for a local or international NGO • Protection / community development experience • Prior training experience and excellent ability to deliver interesting trainings and facilitate discussions • Ability to adapt training materials to the audience and relay sensitive and complex topics to youth/adults • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Capacity to work with a team and independently • Capacity to work under pressure and achieve work plans and targets • Computer skills in word, excel, PowerPoint • English language is an advantage, Fluency in Arabic and ability to speak to rural community members.
