INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE WITH UNOCHA - (OPEN TO YEMENI NATIONALS ONLY) Type of Contract :    FTA Local Post Level :    GS-6 Languages Required :Arabic   English   Duration of Initial Contract :    One year, renewable Background Under the direct supervision of the Head of Information Management Unit with overall direction of the Head of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) and working as an integral part of the organization’s Team, the incumbent will be ensuring maximum professionalism and adding capacity in supporting the mandate of OCHA.  Duties and Responsibilities Develop appropriate and relevant networks and working relationships with the UN agencies, NGOs, government institutions and local authorities: •    Develop relationships, and provide ongoing liaison, with local partners to ensure information flows are established and maintained; develop information exchange partnerships and build capacity of local partners in the collection of data according to standardized practices; •    Help maintaining comprehensive operational information products, including geographic data, meeting schedules among others; •    Promote and explain the use of core information products; •    Promote standardization, metadata and information sharing among the humanitarian partners. Support the development of evidence-base analysis to effectively support coordination, planning and advocacy role in Yemen:  •    To pre-process, clean, compile, analyse and interpret statistics on humanitarian needs to inform effective, timely and principled humanitarian action; •    To provide data and information in response to requests from clusters, NGOs, the UN, government and within OCHA; •    To provide statistics, information and reports to the Head of Office, Deputy Head of Office and section heads to inform strategic decisions; •    To provide data analysis and create infographics for the creation of OCHA core information management (IM) products; •    To regularly update the OCHA IM products with latest statistics; •    To provide support to and assist in the training of information users in order to achieve the best use and quality of information within the Department. To provide support to schools on the analysis provided to them. Ensure that humanitarian data is available in a compatible format for data sharing with partner agencies and organizations; Liaise with local and international partners on data issues; share relevant datasets and infographics relevant to the activities of clusters and HCT: •    To develop and implement electronic information systems for storing and retrieving data on the humanitarian needs; •    Assist in implementing Inter Agency Rapid Assessments in the field office providing support in data capture, data analysis and visualization; •    Promote data standards including P-Codes and Metadata and contribute to implementation of IMU strategy; •    Report on activities and information products developed at the field office to be integrated at Sana’a. To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post. Experience: •    Minimum Six (6) years of work experience, including at least three (3) years in the field of statistical data analysis, Information Management; •    Experience in surveys, data collection, data analysis and reporting; •    Relevant experience in working with an UN agency or other humanitarian agency is desirable; •    Experience in the area of emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, humanitarian/development environment, field coordination is an asset; •    Excellent command of Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Language Requirements:  •    Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
