The Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company Limited (GNPOC) is established in 1997, with its Head Office in Khartoum. GNPOC is a joint operating company comprising of internationally recognized oil companies of CNPC International Nile Ltd. From Peoples Republic of China, PERTONAS Carigali Nile Ltd. Form Malaysia, ONGC Nile Ganga B.V. from India and Sudapet Co. Ltd. From Republic of the Sudan GNPOC has the rights to explore, develop and produce crude oil from Blocks 2 and 4 and currently has production facilities located in, amongst others, Heglig, Diffra and Neem. GNPOC also operates a 1504 KM long pipeline extending from the Central Processing Facility in Heglig to Bashair Marine Terminal at the Red Sea Coast. GNPOC>s target is to become the premier operating company in the Sudan. This Advertisement is for the following vacancy: Facilities Engineer (1889) In Development Department – E&P field Provides process and facilities engineering advisory and design services to support day to day operation of the Central Production Facility (CPF) and production gathering systems. Provides services in areas of experience, prepares/oversees conceptual designs for new facilities, evaluating plant change requests and requests for engineering support. Develops project strategies for presentation to and for management approval. Initiates studies, conducts process audits and recommends plant/field modifications to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, cost saving and technology updates. Ensures P&ID related to all plant expansion projects have been updated for all projects. a.         Provides advice on process and facilities engineering activities related to the company existing and proposed processes. Participates as a member of various special or ad hoc committees to study various technical problems/facilities, or as an individual contributor, provides expert technical advice as and when requests. b.      Participates in the evaluation of Facilities Improvement Proposals (FIP) involving a wide variety of process elements or problems, and recommends appropriate solutions and/or acceptance or rejection of proposed changes as necessary. c.       Receives various requests Engineering Services Requirements (ESR) for engineering support from the Field Production Manager. d.      Participates in the detailed evaluation and technical audit of various critical plant areas or equipment, frequently as part of a team comprising senior representatives from maintenance, operations and sometimes outside consultants e.       Conducts feasibility studies for de bottlenecking the plant, field and other new projects or non-capital modifications such as operating procedures, conditions control systems, as assigned by management. Meets with consultants, contractors and/or concerned company senior personal in scoping, defining, and planning such projects. f.       Participates in HAZOP studies for proposed plant or field modifications with representatives from operations, maintenance, safety and inspection. Participates in HAZOP report preparation and recommendations. Provides comments / suggestions on any consultant provided recommendations. g.      Reviews existing process control schemes and suggests improvements commensurate with latest developments in the field. Interacts with instrument engineers in maintenance department in terms of agreeing the detailed process requirements, agreeing on improvements to be made and any facility or process changes. h.      Assist in budget compilation exercises, prepares cost estimates, advises on project phasing taking into account long lead items and company procedures. i.        Assist section head in the establishment and updating of facility equipment standards, develops an approved equipment list. Includes collection of vendor details such as “As Built” drawings, physically checking details and updating operating manuals. j.        Site supervision of visiting consultants who may be carrying out design for the company including a comprehensive trip report. 1.      B.Sc degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. 2.      5 years experience in the design, operating and maintenance of process plant and facilities within the oil/gas industry should include design engineering experience in this environment. 3.      Fluency in English. ·         All applicants must have a release from the National Service. ·         Only short listed applicants will be contacted for interview. ·         All short listed applicants will be subject to technical and English ability test. ·         Recent photograph plus copies of qualifications, experience, national service and birth certificates, should be attached with application. ·         Application from is available at GNPOC Reception Desk at Khartoum Tower.
